The AWT Group, a member of the PKP Cargo Group, is continuing to expand its transport and customer portfolio in the area of combined transport.

On 11 January 2018 the first train carrying trailers arrived from Herne at the AWT terminal in Paskov, Czech Republic.

Four trains per week will be dispatched as part of this new regular service between the Paskov terminal and Herne, which is in the Ruhr district, between the cities of Essen and Dortmund. AWT is implementing this service for the European transport organisation Lkw Walter.

In addition to the traction, AWT provides railway carriages for this transport. These are newly manufactured wagons of the type Sdggmrss

T3000 and each waggon can carry two trailers. At the terminal in Paskov, AWT also ensures complete servicing for trains from Herne. „With this new project we have doubled the number of handled trains carrying trailers at the terminal,“ says Viktor Bystrian, CCO of AWT.

On the regular service Paskov – Herne, AWT will use new Bombardier Traxx multisystem locomotives, which it has been operating since 4 January of this year. The train covers the entire route of more than 1100 km in less than a day.
