Komatsu Forest becomes new customer of Ahlers Logistic Centre in St. Petersburg

The logistic centre of the Ahlers Group in St. Petersburg attends to a new large-scale contract. Komatsu Forest transferred responsibility of control and handling of spare parts logistics in the Russian Federation to the company. The tasks are ranging from management of imports to storage logistics including order processing and distribution. The assortment comprises about 4,000 items. Ahlers Logistic and Maritime Serviced has been represented since 1992 in St. Petersburg with an own department, where currently 200 employees are working. The logistics centre with 25,000 m² warehouse space will shortly be expanded by an additional building with 17,000 m² covered floor space. Further storage facilities are in Belgium, the Ukraine, China and Indonesia. The complete network of the Antwerp-based group includes departments in 15 countries with about 1,000 employees. The service portfolio comprises the key fields of integrated logistic services and maritime services.
